Jiaonan Haili Valve Casting Co., Ltd. is equipped with 4 medium frequency induction furnaces, a metal preheat furnace, an annealing and heat-preserving furnace, several electric heating shell-making and core-making machines and two centrifugal tubular anode forming machines. It possesses the facilities of chemical analysis, metallographic examination, physical test and nondestructive test.
High Silicon Cast Iron(HSCI) Anode is the buried component of impressed current systems for cathodic protection of land and marine structures from corrosion. The chemistry of HSCI anodes for impressed current cathodic protection is well established in Standards, and it results in superior corrosion resistant capacity for mechanical properties.
HSCI is working well for electrical conductivity. Impressed current anode will develop a thin passive barrier film of hydrated oxides of silicon on the metal surface, after oxidation takes place. The film has high resistivity and chemistry stability, which is in passive state under acid condition, so it can reduce the dissolving rate for anode. Moreover, after covered by Chromium, the protection film of SiO2 of HSCI is developed to resist corrosion from alkali and chloride ion, so that anode can be applied for strong chloride conditions. Therefore, HSCI Anode with Chromium adapts to all kinds of land and water environments.
Usually, the production methods are divided into two types--Sand Casting and Chill Casting. Currently, our company takes Chill Casting as the main method. Comparing between the two methods, the results in their crystalline fractures are significantly different. The metallurgical structure of Sand Casting is loose, but Chill Casting can make it with uniform distribution and fine metallurgical structure which can improve anode corrosion-resistance and extend longer life. According to the accelerated testing, it is obvious that the surface of Sand Casting anode has been consumed a lot, however, the surface of Chill Casting anode is still complete.
